Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants Walter Smith FINED for his tactical masterstroke in Rangers' 0-0 draw last night.
Ferguson confessed before the Battle of Britain that he feared lifelong buddy Smith's brain would be working overtime for this one.
But asked if he had expected Gers to open their Champions League campaign with a five-man defence, Fergie sighed: "I knew Walter would come up with something but I didn't expect a five-man defence.
"I was surprised by that and he should be FINED for it!
"It was a frustrating night for us because Rangers' system was difficult to break down and they worked so hard.
"I don't think playing other players would have made a difference as Rangers were so well organised. They defended so deep we just couldn't get open them up at all.
"It took us 70 minutes to win a corner."
