Manchester United are ready to slap in an opening offer for Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama.The Sun says United are ready to make a £10million summer bid for Wanyama.

Boss Alex Ferguson checked out the Kenyan, 21, on Tuesday night when he scored in a 4-0 win over Dundee United.

The Red Devils have watched him in every Champions League game this season, including the 2-1 home win over Barcelona in which Wanyama scored.

The 6ft 2in star is a strong defensive midfielder who can also play at centre-back.
