Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says Michael Owen is a big part of his new season plans.
When Owen was not named in the 18-man squad for the club's opening Premier League game against Newcastle, it looked as though he would be left on the fringes.
But the 30-year-old will be on the bench at Fulham today and will be included when Ferguson presents his compulsory 25-man squad to the Premier League a week today.
Ferguson said: "Michael has no worries about his situation. He is an important member of the first-team squad. The development of our young players means we'll have about 30 players available. I am very comfortable with the situation."
