Manchester United youngster Scott Wootton could make a Champions League debut at FC Cluj.

The Mirror says Wootton may be called into Champions League action by Manchester United this week.

Jonny Evans suffered an injury in United's 3-2 defeat to Tottenham on Saturday and remains a doubt for the tie in Romania against FC Cluj.

With Nemanja Vidic, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling all out injured, United are desperate for Evans not to join them on the sidelines.

Although Michael Carrick could plug the gap in defence - as he has done before - if Evans is not fit, Sir Alex Ferguson may turn to Wootton.

"Scott reads the game well and passes the ball well," said Ferguson. "Having seen him in the situation against Newcastle, up against experienced players, he did very well."
