Man Utd boss Ferguson cops Newcastle backlash over "wee club" jibe

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is facing a Newcastle United backlash over his "wee club" jibe.

Fergie made the swipe in reaction to Alan Pardew's comments about his clash with ref Mike Dean in midweek.

A senior Toon source hit back, telling The Sun: "We are very proud of our 'wee club in the North East' - 50,000 supporters at every home game."

Newcastle goalkeeping coach Andy Woodman tweeted: "Funny! After the game Mr Ferguson offered us drink and pie! Never said a word to our faces! As for Wee Club! Come to city and meet REAL FANS!"

Popular fans site NUFC.co.uk tweeted: "All respect lost for Fergie. He has really embarrassed himself."
