Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson can't see Chelsea throwing everything only at the Champions League this season.
Fergie dismissed Carlo Ancelotti's stance that Chelsea will focus on winning their first major European prize.
He said: "It's hard to do that. Our league is so tribalistic, do you really think Chelsea are going to play Tottenham, Arsenal, United or Liverpool and not play their best team ... no chance.
"It's not like athletics where you programme yourself for the four or five big competitions a year. Ours is every week, every four days.
"For that reason I think it's impossible to focus like that. You'd like to, of course, because there's great kudos in winning the Champions League.
"I can understand Chelsea being desperate to win it. It's Abramivich's big desire, isn't it? But it's a tough competition to win, believe me."
