Manchester United's attempts to sign a central defender will continue into deadline day.

United are trying to secure a center back for manager Jose Mourinho, being linked to the likes of Harry Maguire, Toby Alderweireld and now Jerome Boateng.

Per Sky Sports, Boateng could be the subject of a loan bid from the club.

They are concerned about the 29-year-old's injury record and do not want to sign him permanently just yet.

But Boateng is also wanted by Paris Saint-Germain, where he would prefer to play as they have a bigger chance of winning the Champions League.
