Man Utd assistant Phelan: Solskjaer has the right tools

Manchester United assistant coach Mike Phelan has backed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to take over full-time at the club.

Solskjaer has lead a remarkable turnaround in fortunes for United since he became interim boss in December.

Having been right beside the Norwegian all the way, Phelan has seen enough to think he can take the job permanently.

"Managing people is no different wherever you are," Phelan told the FOX Football Podcast.

"You try and get the best out of people, you try communicate well, and he's got all those skills. It just so happens now that he's got an opportunity at Manchester United, which he's relishing."
