Man Utd assistant Carrick not surprised by Solskjaer

Manchester United assistant boss Michael Carrick is not surprised at the way Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has adapted to his managerial role.

Solskjaer took over from Jose Mourinho in December, with United well behind Arsenal and Chelsea in the race for a top four finish.

Now they are in the thick of the hunt, showcasing how many points they have picked up under Solskjaer.

And his assistant Carrick is not surprised at the turnaround.

"It's going well at United, but we're not getting carried away because nothing has been won by us," Carrick explained to the Manchester Evening News.

"It's gone better than we could ever have hoped for since Ole arrived but I'm not surprised at how well he has done, he'd been preparing for this for a long time."
