Zenit Saint Petersburg have been bombarded with messages from Manchester United and Arsenal.
The Russian giants briefly opened their private messages on Twitter to let their supporters get in touch.
But the plan backfired when the supporters of both Premier League clubs pleaded with Zenit to buy Phil Jones and Shkodran Mustafi.
One message read: "How many retweets do you want for you to buy Phil Jones from Manchester United?"
Another said:"Can you buy Mustafi please? At least how many retweets to make it possible? Please take Mustafi."
We leave our DMs open to be nice and all we get is messages asking how many retweets for Phil Jones or Mustafi… pic.twitter.com/31VfZsJqA4
