Manchester United are battling Manchester City for Napoli defender Kaloidou Koulibaly.

La Repubblica says United have moved ahead of City in the race to sign Koulibaly.

The Senegal international is expected to leave the club in the summer transfer window with various outlets in Italy reporting the defender has made his wish clear to club president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Napoli are set to allow their star defender to leave if they receive a suitable offer and reports suggest both United and City are interested in securing his signature.

Paris-Saint Germain are also expected to provide competition for his services with reports suggesting Koulibaly has already purchased a property in Paris.
