Manchester United have added a former Liverpool scout to their talent spotting staff.
Former Anfield senior scout Mark Anderson persuaded Liverpool to sign Sterling as a 15 year old from the QPR Academy, reports The Sun.
Anderson, who later became head of recruitment at Brighton, received a personal letter of thanks from Kenny Dalglish for discovering Sterling.
But now it is Anderson's job to discover another gem for the Reds' arch rivals United after arriving at Old Trafford.
Sterling cost Liverpool just £600,000 back in August 2010 but five years later he left for Manchester City in a deal worth a total of £49M.
