Man Utd ace Pogba: I've taken Dembele under my wing

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was happy with France's World Cup qualifying victory over Kazakhstan.

The United ace started the match and was pleased with his own performance over the hour he was on the plastic pitch. Pogba eventually coming off for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

And Pogba was also particularly pleased for Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele after his goal in the 2-0 win. Dembele is enjoying some of the best form of his career currently with Barca and has managed to translate that to the international stage with Les Bleus.

Reflecting on the win, Pogba, quoted by Le 10 Sport, said, "The result is positive. We had to do the job and we did it. Against a team that has not let go. Frankly everyone would have thought they were going to let us score 5 goals, but they played well.

"We managed to score two goals, and their goalkeeper had a great game afterwards. We are happy.

"Synthetic? It is special. But I feel good, I came back from injury. I still played 60 minutes. We are happy."

Moving onto France teammate Dembele, Pogba admits he was delighted for the attacker. The midfielder reveals he's mentoring his young teammate and is in regular touch. Dembele opened the scoring on the night before an own goal from Kazakhstan settled the result for the visitors.

He added: "Dembélé? It's very good for him. We know what he can bring to the team. He can still progress, he knows it. I took him under my wing, I boost him. He always gives the maximum."

Dembele now has three goals for France from 23 senior caps.
