Man Utd ace Nani: Rooney primed for big Rangers performance

Nani has no doubt Manchester United teammate Wayne Rooney will be up for tonight's Champions League clash with Rangers. Portuguese wing king Nani reckons Rooney will revel in the Battle of Britain crunch.

He told the Scottish Sun: "I am sure Wayne will be OK for this game and that he can be a decisive player for us.

"We need him because the dressing room has been affected by the dropped points against Fulham and Everton.

"This is the Champions League now and we know we must get all three points against Rangers. The players were to blame for the draws in the league so we must atone by doing well in Europe.

"I am convinced we can do that, but Rangers are difficult opponents because of the England v Scotland rivalry.

"We believe we are the better team, but we know how Rangers will play here so we will have to play well to win.

"We must forget the goals we lost late on at Everton on Saturday and focus on winning this one.

"If we can get the first goal, I'm convinced we will go on to win.

"I remember playing against Celtic two years ago and we had to fight to the end in Glasgow to get a point. We should win this group, but we'll only do so if we play properly."
