And the Ivorian has been receiving tips on his game from United's best player over the past 12 months as he targets a breakthrough into the first team.

Fernandes has taken Diallo under his wing every time the youngster has joined the senior squad for training, says ESPN.

There could be no better player for the teenager to learn from than Fernandes, who has been United's talisman since joining from Sporting Lisbon a year ago and quickly emerged as a leader in the squad.
