Man Utd ace Fernandes slams claims of dressing room rifts

Manchester United ace Bruno Fernandes says confidence has always been strong even before Sunday's win at Leeds.

United go to Atletico Madrid tomorrow for the first-leg of their Champions League round 16 tie.

Fernandes said, "I think the team has been playing well even in the games we didn't win. Obviously when you don't get the result, it's not perfect. Winning games, you feel more confident.

"Going into this game, which is an important one, obviously we know that having that confidence of winning games gives you something more to be prepared for the game. If we stick from the plan from the first to the last minute, we can win the game."

Fernandes also hit out at claims of dressing room cliques and rifts.

"I don't know. I don't know what people mean to that. I was doing an interview now and they asked me about Jadon Sancho doing my celebration. I don't think that's something that's going in different ways. I saw the goal of H [Maguire] and I see Paul running behind him, sliding on his knees, happy for him. I was slapping his head, saying finally you've scored a goal with that big head. I think honestly, it's just people trying to complain.

"We know when someone talks about this club, they go around the world with their voice and that's something they want. For us, it means nothing."
