Man Utd academy coach Cochrane: We want Garnacho to reach first team

Manchester United academy coach Justin Cochrane is delighted with the progress of Alejandro Garnacho this season.

The former Atletico Madrid striker has been key in United's run to the FA Youth Cup final. Spanish born and raised Garnacho was called into the senior Argentina squad last week.

Cochrane told Goal: "I have a good relationship with Garnacho and he knows that if he crosses the line, I'll come get him!

“He played well against Leicester in the quarter-final of the FA Youth Cup, but he can do better, he can score more goals, he can be more ruthless. But he's developing, and he's doing well at the moment. We are happy with him.

"My job and that of the staff is to keep players grounded and focus on what they want to achieve," continued Cochrane. "Not just winning the FA Youth Cup, but stepping up to first team and having a long professional career at a high level, so that's what we're focusing on with Garnacho."
