Man Utd academy chief Cox: Players do not feel pressure to deliver ahead of FAYC final

Manchester United academy coach Nick Cox says the players do not feel any type of extra pressure ahead of tonight's FA Youth Cup final.

A record crowd for the competition is anticipated, with around 70,000 tickets sold for the encounter with Nottingham Forest.

United have won the tournament on a record 10 occasions - but not since 2011, when Paul Pogba, Ravel Morrison and Jesse Lingard were part of their squad.

Head of academy Cox does not feel the massive crowd or the rotten campaign at first-team level will have a negative impact on United's young players.

"I am delighted so many fans are going to turn up and hopefully have a nice night and leave feeling proud of their club," he said.

"I certainly don't feel we take on extra responsibility because of what happens with the first-team.

"Our pressure is making sure a player reaches their full potential and they leave us enriched by the experience and that we can be proud of the work they do in adult life, whether that is in football or not."
