Man City youngster Evans on verge of Reading move

Championship club Reading are set to sign George Evans from Manchester City.

According to Sky Sports, the Royals have agreed a deal with City to sign the 21-year-old midfielder.

Evans only returned to City on the weekend following an impressive loan spell at Walsall which had attracted the interest of Brentford who are now managed by former Saddlers boss Dean Smith.

However, it is believed that Reading have won the race to sign the talented England youth international who can also be deployed in defence.

Evans, who has previously enjoyed loans at Crewe Alexandra and Scunthorpe United, scored three goals in 12 League One appearances for Walsall during his stay at The Banks's Stadium.
