Man City winger Weiss pleased with Rangers start

Manchester City winger Vladimir Weiss is happy with the way he has kicked off his loan at Rangers.

The 20-year-old had an eye-opening introduction to the Scottish game as he watched from the bench as referee Iain Brines dismissed Hibs' Kevin McBride and Rangers' Kyle Lafferty. But Weiss, who is hoping to start for Smith's side now he has got a full week of training under his belt, is undeterred by the incidents.

"I knew before I came here that the Scottish league was physical," he said. "In fact, that's one of the reasons that I came here, to get used to that aspect of the game.

"The English league is very physical as well and by playing here it will help me in that area. The game on Sunday didn't surprise me. I am not afraid of anything. The sort of things you see in Scottish football you see in the English game every week as well."
