Man City win our highlight of the season - Stoke boss Hughes

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has nominated his side's win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium as the highlight of the year for his club.

Hughes led the Potters to their highest ever points tally in the Premier League in 2014/15, securing a second consecutive ninth-place finish.

The Welshman nominated the victory over the Manchester giants as the top moment of the campaign, especially given it came away from the Staffordshire club's Brittania Stadium fortress.

"That win over Man City represents a real highlight, but it is one of many, several of which have come on our travels as a consequence of our improvement in the way we go about things away from the Britannia Stadium," Hughes said at the club's end of season awards night.

"Beating Arsenal at the Britannia - again - was special, not least because of the quality of the football we played in the opening 45 minutes.

"And our performance against Tottenham last time out here at the Brit was as complete a performance as we've produced this season, if not since I joined the club."
