Samir Nasri is of the belief that Manchester City will be well-placed to take on Europe's top clubs next season.
City were beaten 2-1 by Barcelona at the Camp Nou last night to lose 4-1 on aggregate in the Champions League Round of 16.
The defeat again saw City perform below expectations in Europe's premier club competition but Frenchman Nasri feels they will take some invaluable lessons from the two legs against Barca and be better prepared for next season.
"I think we played a good game. I think we did everything we could," said Nasri.
"We can have regrets about the first leg - it is in the first leg we lost it - but here we did everything.
"I think this defeat is going to be good for us in the future.
"This is where you get experience and get much stronger as a team and a group. Next year our target is to be up there with the best."
