Manchester City will not drop their asking price for defender Jerome Boateng.
The Daily Mail says Bayern Munich say they have been told a figure of £17.5m might do the deal.
That was seen as a deterrent in some quarters but Bayern are astute businessmen and it's no surprise that Boateng has now declared his intent to leave Eastlands and return to Germany.
The onus is on Bayern finding the money City want and they will be patient if necessary. City will not want an unhappy player in the camp as they look to unify the team ahead of the Champions League and a compromise is likely although maybe not until July.
