Manchester City are watching Barcelona fullback Jordi Alba.

El Mundo Deportivo says City are monitoring Alba's situation as he waits to open new contract talks with Barca.

City are preparing to lose Aleksandar Kolarov this summer and see Alba as competition for Gael Clichy.

The Spain fullback moved to Barca two years ago and is rated a first-choice by coach Luis Enrique.

Alba was sent off in victory at Espanyol on Saturday.
