Man City want Real Madrid star Benzema to solve striker problem

Manchester City are planning an audacious move for Real Madrid front man Karim Benzema.

The veteran Frenchman has been a star performer at Real under Carlo Ancelotti this term.

However, El Nacional claims that City boss Pep Guardiola sees Benzema as the ideal man to fill the void left by Sergio Aguero.

Benzema has a contract until 2023, which means that City may look to swoop in and sign him for a cut price fee at the end of this season.

The report does state, however, that Real president Florentino Perez wants to keep the 33-year-old.
