Manchester City want to extend the contract of Sergio Aguero.

According to the Daily Mail, City are keen for the Argentine striker to put pen to a 12-month extension which would keep him at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2020.

Aguero, 27, is currently contracted until 2019 and is planning to return to his first club Independiente following his City career.

But the 2012 and 2014 Premier League champions are hoping they can tie him down for one extra season and have opened talks with his representatives regarding that scenario.

Aguero has been in fine form this season with 14 goals in 18 Premier League appearances for a total tally of 18 in all competitions.
