Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho does not mind filling in at centre-back when it is necessary.

Given the champions are experiencing an injury crisis in the position, Fernandinho has been asked to fill in for Pep Guardiola's side.

And he is happy to do so, as he knows that he can be most useful to his team in that role given current circumstances.

Fernandinho has spent the past two games in defence, helping the team to two wins and two clean sheets.

"Both our centre-backs are injured, so they find that I can play there," Fernandinho said to reporters.

"I'm here to help so that's fine.

"As for the future, we will see what happens. It's better to think about now.

"Sometimes experience can help, even if you don't play - talking to the players, helping to fix some things.

"This is the best way to be in the team, helping wherever you can."
