After securing back-to-back Premier League titles Manchester City will be looking to completely monopolise the English top flight and win the title once again.
To do so though, they will need to bolster their already impressive squad in a bid to avoid any slip ups during the course of the season.
On that note, here are five players they could sign:
Manchester City have reportedly joined the race for Juventus right-back Joao Cancelo who has attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Cancelo is a versatile right-back who is capable of featuring as a midfielder having been deployed as a RM by Massimiliano Allegri on a few occasions last season.
The 25-year-old would fit in quite nicely at Manchester City as he's a great passer of the ball, he's pacey and he's capable of going past players in 1 v 1 situations to create space for a pass or a cross.
His ability to contribute to attacking plays whilst maintaining his defensive duties will allow him to thrive in Pep Guardiola's system which prioritizes playing the ball out from the back.

Ben Chilwell - Leicester City
Pep Guardiola took a moment to admire Ben Chilwell's ability in City's 1-0 win over Leicester City back in May.
The Manchester City boss had a quick chat with the 22-year-old on the pitch, praising his ability thus subtly declaring interest in securing his services.
Chilwell is one of Leicester's most prized assets as he possesses insane amounts of tactical awareness.
He's able to identify the right passing lanes to move into thus allowing himself to make accurate interceptions – he's also an excellent crosser of the ball as he's able to make overlapping runs to aid his side's attacks from the left flank.

After signing Rodri, Pep Guardiola could go after another midfield maestro at the Wanda Metropolitano, Saul Niguez, who has become a mainstay at Atletico Madrid over the past few years.
The Spaniard is said to be frustrated over Atleti's lack of trophies in recent seasons, though, and could view a move to Manchester City as an opportunity to stack up some winners' medals.
Saul is an amazing playmaker capable of performing as a box-to-box midfielder or as a regista. He would fit Manchester City's style of play perfectly.

Isco - Real Madrid
With David Silva set to leave Manchester City next summer Isco has been identified as one of the best players to replace the iconic Spaniard, and with good reason, considering how similar the Real Madrid artist is to David Silva.
Isco can make Manchester City tick the same way David Silva does. He's one of the best dribblers on the planet as he's able to go past multiple players with ease.
The Spain international is also capable of playing defence-splitting through balls for players who are running in behind to receive.
He's a true midfield maestro who would almost certainly eliminate the possibility of City falling apart after the end of David Silva's era.

Houssem Aouar - Lyon
Widely regarded as one of the best young talents in Europe, Houssem Aouar would be a great signing for Manchester City – one that would pretty much boost their chances of winning the Premier League for the third season in a row.
Described as “Incredible" by Pep Guardiola, Aouar ticks all the boxes regarding the qualities a great midfielder should possess.
Lyon, though, have been open with their desire to retain Aouar's services beyond this transfer window as they feel he still has an important role to play for the team, hence; City would have to pay a hefty sum if they are to have any chance of securing the Frenchman's services.
