Manchester City are lining up a move for Borussia Monchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi.
The Switzerland international is regarded among the best ball-playing centre-halves playing in Germany, boasting a 95 per cent pass completion rate last season.
BILD says City are ready to move for Elvedi with an opening offer of €35m.
Gladbach, while reluctant to lose the 22 year-old, are prepared to sell after Elvedi refused to consider new contract talks. His current deal runs to 2021.
Along with his centre-half role, Elvedi is also capable of playing at fullback and it's this versatility which is attractive to City boss Pep Guardiola.
