Manchester City will not allow full-backs Pablo Zabaleta and Aleksandar Kolarov to leave until the club has found apt replacements.
The Daily Mirror is of the belief that City are prepared to let the experienced duo depart this summer but not until they make new signings to fill the void.
Argentine right-back Zabaleta was close to joining Roma earlier in the month but City want a new right-sided full-back before letting him go as Bacary Sagna is expected to miss the start of the Premier League season following his exertions with France at Euro2016.
On the other side of defence, Serbian international Kolarov has been heavily linked with Turkish club Besiktas and is expected to depart the Etihad Stadium once Pep Guardiola adds a new left-back.
