Manchester City are to make a new contract offer to Vincent Kompany.

The Times says City are hopeful Kompany will sign a new one-year contract extension.

His current deal expires at the end of the season and more talks will take place after the FA Cup final.

But City are confident the offer will be accepted, the report says, even though there are no assurances of playing time.

Kompany has stated he will be playing next season - even if it's not with City.
