Manchester City striker Lukas Nmecha stands by his decision to commit to Germany.
Nmecha, currently on loan at Championship side Preston, had played for England from U16s right up to the U21s, racking up 28 appearances in total. But he has now opted to play for Germany, the country of his and his mother's birth.
The two countries could now meet in the Euros knockout stages in June and Nmecha said: “No, I wouldn't have a problem [scoring and knocking England out].
“I chose to join Germany, which is where I was born, so that's how it is. It's just one of those decisions a player has to make. Nobody can make it for them.
“I've had to think hard and long about what I really wanted, and this is what I want."
