Man City still £10m short of Everton valuation for Stones

Manchester City are still no closer to landing John Stones from Everton.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Pep Guardiola's City remain £10million short of the Toffees' £50m valuation of the central defender.

Guardiola has made no secret of his desire to lure the 22-year-old England international to the Etihad Stadium but at this point in time, is not willing to go beyond £40m.

City spent £37m on German winger Leroy Sane on Tuesday and it is understood that Stones is the next priority, however, there remains a massive gap between the two valuations of the two clubs in question.

Ronald Koeman's Toffees are not interested in taking striker Wilfried Bony from City to make up the difference and are happy to wait and see if Guardiola will increase his bid to £50m, which would break the record for money spent on an English player.
