PEC Zwolle defender Philippe Sandler stands by his decision to sign for Manchester City.

The Dutch youngster will move to City at the end of this season.

He told Voetbal International: "There are experts who think I'm going to make it and there are people who think I cannot handle it. I can show it now. What else should I have done? Let this chance go?

"I know Josep Guardiola wants to work with young talents in the coming years.

"I'm not just a number, they really have a plan with me. Guardiola too. When I was in hospital for my medical examination, my father spoke to him. He knew exactly who I was.

"In England I am going to give everything, then I see how far I have to go. For the coming years, I have only one goal: to become a player for Manchester City."
