Man City set unwanted Champions League record

Manchester City have set a record in the UEFA Champions League following their defeat to Lyon at home.

City struggled to get underway in the competition, losing 2-1 at home to the unfancied French side.

And they have now set a record of being the first English side to lose four successive games in the competition.

City lost 2-1 to Basel in the second leg of their round of 16 clash last season, before losing both quarter final legs to Liverpool.

Defeat at home to Lyon has now made it four games and four losses in Europe's elite competition for a side that wants to go all the way.
