Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden was delighted with his brace for their 4-1 FA Cup win at Newport County.

Second-half goals from Leroy Sane, Foden (2) and Mahrez ensured City's class eventually told against opponents 82 places below them on the league ladder.

“We still tried to stick to game plan," Foden told ManCity.com. “We are Premier League footballers so we can handle any pitch, and we showed our quality on a very difficult pitch tonight.

“It's so important to do our best in all competitions and it was great to get the win today.

“We are still in all competitions and we want to keep fighting for everyone."
