Cancelo has failed to threaten Kyle Walker's starting berth at right-back, starting just eight Premier League games this season.

Given his difficult start to life with the Blues, the 25-year-old has already been linked with an exit and Barcelona are believed to be huge admirers of the Portugal international.

But City have told the La Liga giants they are not interested in a Semedo swap as they don't deem the deal to be clear enough. City were offered Semedo in the January transfer window but also told Barcelona 'no'.
