Man City receive price boost in bid for Napoli defender Koulibaly

Manchester City have been encouraged in their interest for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Mirror says City manager Pep Guardiola will have to pay £65million to land top defensive target Koulibaly.

Italian giants Napoli want a huge fee for the 29-year-old centre half but the price is actually lower than the original fee quoted of around £80m.

There is a growing belief that Manchester City will go for Koulibaly as one of three big money targets this summer after their two year Champions League ban was lifted.

City boss Guardiola wants a centre half, left back and forward as part of his rebuilding plans at the Etihad and they are ready to spend big to challenge Liverpool in the title race next season.

Napoli are now braced for a bid and it will come down to whether the Italian club are ready to sell with City ready to spend big this summer.
