Manchester City are ready to pay a release clause for Velez Sarsfield teenager Maximo Perrone.

The talented youngster has a clause of roughly £5 million in his contract, per Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer specialist states that several European teams are chasing the Argentine midfielder.

He is seen as a huge talent given the way he has burst onto the scene with Velez.

However, City are said to have stolen a march in the race for his signature.

A deal may even be wrapped up in January, such is City's interest in Perrone.
