Manchester City are set to reward England defender John Stones with a new contract.

The centre-back has been in fine form this term, re-establishing himself as first choice alongside Ruben Dias.

Per The Times, manager Pep Guardiola is desperate for the City hierarchy to tie down Stones to a new deal.

He will enter the final 12 months of his existing deal when this season concludes.

Talks between the two parties should commence in the summer, and Stones is delighted with his position at the club at the moment.
