Man City plan peak De Bruyne return for Spurs clash

Kevin De Bruyne is set to be in peak condition when Manchester City face Tottenham at Wembley later this month.

The playmaker has not featured since City's opening weekend win over Arsenal. He was expected to miss three months.

But such has been the speed of his recovery that Pep Guardiola hinted he could have returned against Liverpool last Sunday.

Instead, City will use the international break for De Bruyne to be fit for next Saturday's clash with Burnley.

The Evening Standard reports that City's plan was to have the Belgian at peak fitness for the meeting with fellow title rivals Tottenham on October 29.
