Manchester City are spreading a wide net to find a new defensive signing.
The Daily Mail says City boss Pep Guardiola is considering moves for a new defender in the January window, with Inter Milan's Milan Skriniar and Shakhtar Donetsk's Mykola Matviyenko both options.
City have suffered heavy blows at the back this season, with Aymeric Laporte being ruled out for a long spell with a knee injury, while the likes of John Stones and Nicholas Otamendi have also been sidelined at times.
As a result, Guardiola has been forced to play makeshift centre-backs - with midfielders such as Fernandinho and Rodri filling in.
The uncertainty has hit City hard in their bid to retain the title as Liverpool run away at the top.
