Man City owners CFG on brink of buying Bahia

Manchester City owners City Football Group (CFG) are set to further expand their network.

Rete Globo is reporting CFG are in advanced talks to buy Bahia and the takeover is on course to be completed in August.

Bahia are currently in third place in Brazil's Serie B.

They will be the twelfth club in which CFG will become a shareholder. For now they own, with percentages ranging from 100% of the shares of Manchester City to 20% of the Japanese Yokohama Marinos, ten football clubs which are Manchester City in the Premier League, New York City FC in the North American MLS, Melbourne City in Australia, the Yokohama Marinos in the Japanese J-League, newly promoted Girona in La Liga, Montevideo City Torque in Uruguay, Sichuan Jiuniu in the Chinese Super League, Mumbai City in India, Troyes in France, Lommel in Belgium and Palermo in Italian Serie B.

In addition, there is a partnership with Club Bolivar, which involves one of the members of the City Group, namely Marcelo Claure, who is also a partner of David Beckham in Inter Miami.
