Man City open Atletico Madrid talks for Koke deal

Manchester City are in talks for Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke.

The Daily Star Sunday says City's sporting director and transfer-fixer Txiki Begiristain met his opposite number at Atletico, Jose Luis Caminero and the Madrid club's president Enrique Cerezo in Turin.

Their talks were held at the Italian city's Golden Palace hotel with Koke top of the agenda.

Atletico's own golden boy has a £47million buy-out clause in his contract but is seen at City as a potential, eventual successor to Yaya Toure, 31.

Koke, 22, who played for Spain at this summer's World Cup, has also been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea.
