Man City not at our best for Newcastle win - Guardiola

Manchester City did enough to see off Newcastle United 2-1 on Saturday.

Despite Kyle Walker's prowess as a marauding full-back his last goal came in November 2015 so to see him rifle home a 25-yard winner early in the second half was something of a surprise.

Raheem Sterling's eighth-minute opener on his 100th Premier League appearance for the club was cancelled out by DeAndre Yedlin - another defender not known for his aptitude in front of goal.

“The game, the goal we conceded we defended very bad but in general we didn't concede many chances," said City boss Pep Guardiola.

“We conceded few set-pieces, free kicks. Our performance was good, especially in second half, where we didn't let them run and created chances.

“We have 10 points from 12. We played Arsenal away, so it's a good result and we are delighted for the guys."
