Manchester City had a chance to secure Wesley Ribeiro Silva on deadline day.
However, the Premier League champions did not put in a high enough offer to tempt his Brazilian club Palmeiras to sell.
According to Marca, Pep Guardiola wanted to sign Wesley, who is a skillful left winger.
City put in an offer of roughly £6.5 million plus add-ons for the 22-year-old.
But that was not deemed enough, as Palmeiras do not have major financial issues at present.
They will only considering selling if a bid of more than £10 million comes in at some stage in the future.
