Manchester City midfielder Leroy Sane has warned Liverpool the pressure is on them after Thursday's win.
Sane has warned manager Jurgen Klopp and his men, chasing the Anfield club's first domestic championship for 29 years, the heat is on them.
"We've put more pressure on Liverpool," said the German forward. “We're just four points behind them — and they know it, too.
“They have to keep up, but we do to. It's now a little bit more interesting.
“It was one of the biggest performances since I came here. Liverpool are, at the moment, maybe the best team in Europe or the world, so we're happy we beat them. The players all felt how intense it was, especially given how important the game was. It was really tense.
“You could see in every tackle, in every pass, everyone was really focused on the game and not to make mistakes. One wrong pass, one mistake, and you could get punished.
“So it was really important to win against Liverpool. It gives you more confidence to know we are closer and it's not over. We're always going to fight until the end, it doesn't matter what the scoreline is."
