Manchester City midfielder Leroy Sane has been granted permission to leave Germany's squad.

The German federation confirmed on Thursday that the 22-year-old had left, explaining the decision was due to 'private reasons' following a conversation with boss Joachim Low.

"Following discussions with head coach Joachim Löw, Leroy Sane has left the team hotel in Munich for private reasons and will not be available for #GERPER, " the official Germany Twitter account posted.

BILD says those private reasons were because of his partner, Candice Brook, who is in the advanced stages of pregnancy.

Sane, who was recalled to the national team after missing out on a place in their World Cup squad, featured for seven minutes of the goalless Nations League draw against France on Thursday .
