Man City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan puts Turkish giants on notice

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan admits he's eyeing a move to Turkey.

Fortunately for City though, the midfielder is not planning on making the switch anytime soon, and conceded it may not even be until he has hung up his boots.

Gundogan told Futbolarena: "Of course, I follow the Super Lig. Not every game, but every now and then I watch some games.

"There is a team I have a certain sympathy for, but it would not be correct to name it now.

"I could play in the Super Lig in four or five years. I would love to do that. However, I don't have to come to Turkey as a footballer. I can also very well imagine a job as a trainer."

For now Gundogan is content, but he admitted the door was always open.

"I'm currently happy here," he added. "But things can change quickly in the football business. But I would always say yes to Turkey."
