Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan says Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was among the first to contact him after winning the Premier League title.

The pair worked together at Borussia Dortmund.

Gundogan told Sport1: "Klopp was one of the first to congratulate me on my championship.

"We have always respected each other. He had another good season with Liverpool and made life difficult for us.

"Klopp is an outstanding person and coach, and has been showing this for many years."
